Eleven Old African Kid’s Left Hand Deformed- Index Finger Fusion Operation

Venerable Master Hui Li and some teachers visited Jhong Jheng Spine & Orthopedic Hospital with a little African girl in one morning. There was no difference between this little patient and with the crowd waiting at JJOH Lobby. In this particular morning, Master Hui Li was be with the little girl. Their conversation was like a father gently talking to his child. The morning atmosphere was supposed to fill with a sense of nervousness about the imminent surgery. Yet, with the soft talking and intimate laughter of the volunteer teachers, Master and the young patient, there was a difficulty to identify that this little African angel was going to have an operation in that day afternoon.   Jing Cheng, a 11-year old Swazilander, with beautiful eyes, her second finger of left had was twisted more than 50 degree.  After the diagnosis in the first visit to JJOH, Superintendent Dr. Ming Fang Wu decided to fix the deformed bone structure through a surgery. However, Cheng’s hand bone was without growth plate and was too small to stabilize the surgery needle in the fusion surgery of phalangeal.  Thus, Dr. Wu made another decision. A subsequent surgery will be proceeded without delay. This surgery out coming was wonderful and the following two months of recovery was important for Cheng. Dr. Wu examined the patient’s wound in every details and under the professional care of JJOH, Cheng recovered in an excellent condition. She endured the unpleasant pain and the ACC teachers took good care the patient. After the needle was extracted, finger movement was recovered unexceptionally well. Before leaving Taiwan, Cheng wore her favorite red dress and thanked Dr. Wu wholeheartedly for his generous professional treatment. Her Chinese was perfect without any accent and her story impressed people with the good deeds of Taiwan people’s enthusiastic devotion in Africa. Their contributions started with Venerable Master Hui Li and his thorough dedication to the land where hundreds of years ago had been so called the realm of darkness and savagery.
